Privacy Policy
Effective September 3, 2026 · SnapHound ("we", "us")
SnapHound is a field-inspection app for capturing, naming, and organizing inspection photos and videos, and sharing them within a company team. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we protect it, and the choices you have. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
1.Who this covers
This policy applies to the SnapHound mobile app and related services. If your company provides SnapHound to you, your company is the "customer" and administers the account; this policy describes our practices as the service provider.
2.Information we collect
- Account information — your name, email address, and (optionally) company name, created when you sign up or are invited to a team.
- Content you create — the photos and videos you capture or import, and the information attached to them: capture date and time, the file name your template produces, a subject/description you enter, tags, folder structure, on-photo markup (arrows, text, boxes), and any messages you send to teammates in an alert thread.
- Location — if you enable location suggestions, the app reads your device's location while you are using it to suggest nearby folders and to warn you when a photo looks like it was taken far from a folder's other photos. Approximate capture coordinates may be stored with a photo. Location is optional and can be turned off in Settings or your device's permissions at any time.
- Device & usage information — app version, platform (iOS/Android), a push-notification token (if you allow notifications), and basic diagnostics needed to operate and troubleshoot the app.
We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that track you across other apps or websites.
3.How we use information
- Provide the service — store your photos/videos, generate file names, organize folders, and sync across your devices.
- Enable team collaboration — show your work to the teammates and administrators on your organization, according to each person's role and any folder access you set.
- Send account and service messages — a sign-up confirmation code, password-reset code, team invitations, and (if you allow them) push notifications for alerts.
- Provide support and keep the service secure, reliable, and free of abuse.
4.How we store and protect it
Account data and metadata are stored in our database and authentication provider (Supabase); photos and videos are stored as files in Cloudflare R2 object storage. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Access is controlled at the row level so that, by design, members of one organization cannot read another organization's data. Media is served through short-lived signed links.
5.Service providers we share with
We share information only with vendors that process it on our behalf to run the service, under their terms:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and hosting.
- Cloudflare — media storage (R2) and edge compute (Workers).
- Resend — sending transactional emails (confirmation codes, password resets, invitations).
- Expo, Apple (APNs), and Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) — delivering push notifications to your device.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or in connection with a business transfer. We do not sell your personal information.
6.Team and shared content
When you join a company team, the photos, videos, and folders you create become part of that team's workspace and are visible to teammates and administrators according to their roles and the access settings on each folder. If you leave or are removed from a team, your work stays with the team (with your name as its creator) — it belongs to the company, not to your personal account. Administrators can manage content within their own organization.
7.Retention and deletion
- You delete items: deleted photos, videos, and folders go to Recently Deleted and are recoverable for 30 days, after which they are permanently removed (including the underlying files).
- You delete your account: your personal workspace is deactivated immediately and permanently deleted after 30 days; signing back in within that window restores it.
- Joining a team from a personal account: your personal account is suspended and, if you don't return within 30 days, permanently deleted.
- To request deletion or ask a question about your data, contact us at contact@snaphoundapp.com. If your company administers your account, we may direct certain requests to your administrator.
8.Your choices and rights
You can view and edit your profile in the app, turn location and save-to-device on or off in Settings, control notification permissions on your device, and delete your account. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your personal information; contact us at contact@snaphoundapp.com to exercise them and we will respond as required by applicable law.
9.California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request access to or deletion or correction of that information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. To make a request, email contact@snaphoundapp.com; we may need to verify your identity before we respond.
10.Children
SnapHound is a workplace tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
11.International users
We operate in the United States, and information is processed and stored in the United States and by the service providers above. If you use SnapHound from another country, you consent to that processing.
12.Changes
We may update this policy; we will post the new version here and update the effective date, and give notice of material changes as required.
